An excellent place to start...
Very good beginners book - I'd never spoken Welsh before, my family comes from Wales and so I thought I'd give it a go. As one of the previous viewers says; listen to this a few times and you suddenly find you can count, name colours, say hello. All very basic but you do need to start somewhere.

I found the layout of the book really approachable as well. I've always found learning languages difficult and the cartoon approach means that there are no dense lists of words or grammar to scare you off! I would imagine this makes it a great book for children too.

So if you're looking for a good place to start - buy this book! It definitely helps - I was flicking through the channel guide for S4C the other day and actually found I could read bits (the children's programmes naturally!) - exciting stuff!

Welsh cd and book
I bought this product after I had used the same one for learning German and found it useful.
I am working in a nursery in Wales that uses Welsh as their first language. I found that the cd did not teach me many phrases that would be useful in the nursery, but it is a very good place to start.
You really need to listen to each chapter several times before you start to pick things up and bear in mind that you will need to buy other products as this by itself is not enough.
It teaches you a lot of phrases but not many single words.
I did think it was good however, and i would recommend it for any age.

Welsh For Beginners
Welsh for Beginners is an excellent learning tool. The CD provides both Welsh and English and gives you time to repeat the words and phrases. I have a few Audio Books for learning Welsh but none have made it as easy as this one. Excellent.
