Product Description

"Ski Atlas of the World" profiles over 80 of the very best places to ski in Europe and North America, plus an overview of skiing in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and South America. Like other New Holland Atlas titles, the book blends informative text, spectacular photography and detailed cartography to present an unrivalled reference to one of the world's most popular sports. The focus of the book is firmly on Europe and North America - the two heartlands of skiing. With broad coverage of individual resorts and attention to up and coming areas such as Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania, this will be an indispensable guide to ski resorts.Introductory text presents regional overviews, with information on mountain ranges, ski conditions, industry development and general character. In addition, ski resort profiles cover specific terrain characteristics, resort character and tone, history and development of facilities and recent trends. The book also features an extensive and easily updateable directory section, covering essential information such as basic statistics, level of difficulty, weather conditions and annual snowfall, ski schools and instruction, nearest airport and much more. "Ski Atlas of the World" is an invaluable reference for anyone planning a ski vacation.

Customer Reviews

Great Book, but Terrible Condition2
The book itself is great, with superb photos, but it's probably worth paying the extra to get a decent copy from a good bookshop. Despite several attempts, Amazon could not provide us with a copy without marks on pages and a damaged cover.
We wasted hours trying to get a half-decent copy from Amazon, with hopeless Customer Service support mis-reading our emails and having to wait for the next delivery and the rejected books to be collected.

Great5
This book is a fabulous summary of the best ski resorts. We bought it to help us decide where to take our skiing holidays, the only downside is it makes you want to go everywhere!!!!
