Quality double rarity
If what you are looking for is a sleeping bag for 2 that doesn't leave draughts, but lets you stick your feet out in the heat, this is the one. It is a quality built bag with 2 zips, both bi-directional so feet can air if you like or you can snuggle up with a head pull section if desired. The bag has all the extras expected of a good quality single but big enough for 2. The zips are covered to prevent heat loss and it can be used inside out if you want. Definately recommended.
sleeping outside in scotland with no tent
after first use wondered where this sleeping bag had been all my life - sure it is heavier (bigger and bulkier) than the average bag but once you strap it to the front of your backpack its not so bad.
i camp in the west of Scotland from early April to late September and so far this sleeping bag has been great for outside or under tarp slung up between a couple of trees. I've used it in very hot, indifferent, monsoon, thunder storm and so cold i could see my breathe weather and its given me a nice toasty sleep on some pretty bumpy ground ever time. plenty of room for two and alot longer than British bags for anyone who's tall. the zips at the bottom are excellent for those of us who like one foot under and the other out.
i have to stress this might be too heavy for some to take on the west highland way or if you have to walk for more than 5-6 hours between camps if your not a good walker. guy's shouldn't have any trouble and those who camp with a car should buy the bag straight away. as a girl i did find it heavier than I'm used to but once i found the right place to put it on my pack it wasn't so terrible.
I'm one of those camper that if its raining or the gas runs out or you forget your matches it can all be made better by a warm nights sleep which this bag gives. I'll happily suffer with the extra weight for the room to maneuver while sharing (get your mind out of the gutter) and tell my friends i told you so when they complain about their freezing uncomfortable nights in supermarket bought bags.
Wonderful!
We bought this sleeping bag for our first camping trip, and having now used it, can report that it is wonderful! It is very soft and warm, very good for if it is cold, as it is soft inside and nicely padded, but as there is a zip on each side, it is easy to undo your side a bit if you are getting too hot, without your partner having to undo the otherside. Lovely colour too and nice tartan pattern inside. Good length as we are both tall, and very good size width-ways for two in fact felt like there was more room in this than under the usual double duvet!
