The book follows Charlie Walduck from his lowest point in life, in danger of eating himself into an early grave. Tipping the scales at nearly 45 stones, a friend contacted ITV's 'This Morning' show to help him lose weight. Two years from that day, Charlie weighed 14 stones, making him a record breaker. Tackling depression and dealing with despair Charlie Walduck is an inspiration to millions, not just with regards to diet, but for his determination to battle his demons and his addiction.

Customer Reviews
He used to be a big man, now he's a GREAT one!
This is such an inspirational read, very well written and a captivating, evocative story.
Yes we've probably seen Charlie Walduck on the telly but this book should be placed on the Department of Education's official reading list or syllabus for schools, so people can learn from it as well as feel better about themselves. Yes, I am being serious!
And does the author feel sorry for himself, is he all 'woe is me' or is he even trying to tell us how brilliant he is? No, he tells it how it is, and he definitely likes to take the p...Mickey out of himself too!
Highly recommended, a truly moving and feelgood book which is completely honest and insightful.
I thought the writer was a mind reader.
Like the other readers ,I had the same problems as them and Charlie. Never really thinking that there were others out there in the big wide world who were crying inside with the unhappiness of joining and leaving each and every slimming class that promised m e a good weight loss if i went with them each week.If I had all the money back that I have spent out over the years I would be well off and a lot better educated in weight loss than I have been up to reading Charlies book.. oh the joy of being able to see the logic in this easy to read and confidence building book, why oh why did I not see the answers years ago instead of sitting feeling sorry for myself and watching the years flying by and the weight piling on. Although I cannot walk far and on sticks due to arthritis, i know I will never be able to do the walking that Hero Charlie is doing, but reading the info on eating and changing of thoughts re food well this is a start, and I am hoping that this will slowly see the obese blob that I thought of myself will disappear and I am slowly going to take it step by step. The book is written in a style and way that you feel you are in the writer`s mind. I bless the day when I switched on the tv and saw the author and Dr Chris Steele on the first day of the programme. I was hooked on this and was waiting in anticipation for each subsequent programme to appear. Was delirious when I realised a book would be out as well. I feel the best thing I have ever done in my ageing life was to order the book and now it has arrived and I have read it through. Its magical. We shall have to see how long it will take to lose a few stone but taken step by step Whatever comes off will be a bonus, for the way this book has been presented Looking at Charlie`s now and then Pictures . he has shed years and looks a different lad Thank you Charlie for having the bravery to write this book. and I for one will be spreading the word.
Amazing! So much more than just a Slimming Book
Well What can I say,
This is an Open and frank Autobiography, that is so easy to read, as if you are reading your own written word,
Charlie explains at every stage of the book, what he was thinking and how he reacted to certain events in his life...
PRODUCER ALERT, I can see this being made into a film...... I really can,
What surprized me, was how so many things Charlie has wrote down, one could say..."Those are my words" and "How come he thought the same things that I was thinking" he explains how so many things effect someones life, even down to furniture!
The book has 16 pages of Photographs, and as they say "A picture say's a Thousand Words" they certainly do,
Charlie's book also contains a WHOLE YEAR Diary, which is an absolutely crucial part of the book, how many can say they have seen a "4 week diet" where you are "meant" to lose a stone in weight guaranteed....Yes lost the Stone, and that's that, Then said to yourself "that was jolly hard work, and I'm not doing it ever again" but to appreciate the stamina of this guy, to keep on week, after week, after week and lose 20st in a year, is MORE than "Inspiring" it is pretty well AMAZING!
I can fully agree with a previous reviewer, that this book makes you want to buy a a dozen, and hand them out to the people who's paths we cross, who are so down, who think they are "beyond help" I want to hand them this book as one would hand out a lifesavers float to a drowning individual....
Well done Charlie, this book is Amazing...
