Synopsis
Based on the novel 'New Cardiff by Charles Webb, this is the story of British artist, Colin Ware who is heartbroken after receiving a invitation to the wedding of Vera, the love of his life. Colin moves to a little town in New England called Hope in order to deal with his grief and soon he falls in love with Mandy, a local nurse. However, soon Vera shows up after deciding that she wants him back...

consistently humorous and engaging story
I liked this film because it went along at a gentle pace,was consistently humorous with good dialogue and acting and interesting characters, and was set in a beautiful location.An artist gets dumped by his fiancee and moves from england to the new england, usa.He falls in love with a local girl but then finds that his fiancee from england visits him and wants him back.For Colin Firth - the man with the dilemma of choosing between two quality women,and the man who played Mr Darcy so memorably in Pride and Prejudice - it is a case of " Gordon Bennet!" rather than Elizabeth Bennet on this occasion.I would be surprised if there are many people who find this film unlikeable.

Great
I totally disagree with the person whos says this film is 'absolute rubbish'. When I first watched Hope Spings it was ok, but I watched it again and now I cant stop I love it! Its even better as Colin Firth is in it- but its a really great feel good film. Its not a huge blockbuster but its still great! The characters are well played to and Joni and Fisher are funny to watch too.

I rated this film highly coz it make me laughed out loud
I do really like this film not only because Colin Firth is on it but also I find this really funny. It make me laughed so much on the scene when Colin Firth drop his trouser and he is not suppose to be wearing underpants! The film is very down to earth romantic comedy and it lifted my spirit when I finished watching this,that's why I'll recommend this to anyone to watch.
