Excellent basic phone
I bought mine Sep 2006. It is very small and light so you don't notice it in your pocket and the reception is good. Battery life is great and it boots up very quickly. Although it lacks a camera and WAP it is extremely well thought out and easy to use, with useful features such as the speakerphone, the clever conversion tool and the reminders. Much easier to use than my BlackBerry, Windows mobile or Motorola, though partly this is because of the lack of video, email and add-on programs. Good value for money and as it's perceived as a cheap phone it's less likely to get pinched. My only gripes are the keyboard looks plasticky (though it works fine) and I wish it had Bluetooth but for the price it's great.
Not as good as I thought
I bought this phone around 10 months ago, everything worked perfectly, battery has a long life if you use it wisely, discharge completely before charing back again. The phone was at a good price for something that didn't include a camera. Unfortunately a couple of days ago the number 0 just stopped working, I opened it up and no repair possible. And of course if you wanted to buy a replacement piece, it would cost you more than the same new phone. was great meanwhile it lasted but now just because a key doesn't work, I have to throw it away.
Can't go wrong
Even though I'm somewhat of a tech geek, when it comes to mobile phones I favor simple equipment that allows me to make phone calls and text messages. It's the one gadget I like plain and simple, functional, resistant and a bit stylish. Well, the Nokia 1600 delivers all that. It's my third one so far (though I wish I could have bought the black-colored one) and I'm still happy with this model. Kick it around and it'll take it all with a smile. Also, great battery life. Could be a bit cheaper - through Amazon it cost me a bit more than my previous one. But, all in all, completely satisfied with this little thing.
