Windows Vista may be the next big thing, but it still contains enough quirks and unaccountable behaviors to vex anyone. This unique guide not only discusses the most irritating features of the latest Microsoft operating system and how to get around them, but also explains how to improve Windows and do more with the software than Microsoft intended. You'll find information on setup, installation, upgrade from other Windows versions, the revamped interface, new security features, user accounts, troubleshooting, and the markedly improved Internet Explorer 7. Other chapters cover a wide range of key topics such as: Media Center - tips on photos, videos, music, TV tuners, HD, and the media center engine; The Registry - explains the background and tools for working with Windows' database of settings; Tinkering Techniques - offers hacking-style customization and problem-solving topics; Networking and Wireless - includes LAN setup, WiFi sniffers and access points, connection sharing, firewalls, routers, and FTP; Scripting and Automation - introduces simple programming using the Windows Scripting Host for automating repetitive tasks. No other book takes our patented cranky, solutions-oriented approach. Our collection of tips, tools and techniques will improve your experience with Windows Vista, so you can control the OS - rather than the other way around.

Book: Windows Vista Annoyances
Excellent, superb, wonderful!! If you are knowledgable in computers and want a book that teaches 'everything possible' to do with Windows Vista, then this is the book for you! Especially if you work with them, too!
I went from a Windows 98SE PC to Vista Premium, this book taught me everything I needed to know & more.
I believe the author allows potential users to use his online version of the book for a period of time, too.
Believe me, it's worth anyones money IF YOU NEED IT! Make sure you do need it!
Somebody should send this to the Microsoft morons!
I recently bought a new PC so had Vista inflicted on me. What a mess!! Problems that were evident in Windows 3.1 (yes, that long ago!) have resurfaced and the performance is atrocious, so thank goodness for this book.
You will be able to get rid of many of the problems of Vista but for some, it does take a bit of courage and knowledge to use the registry to get things done. It's worth it though, my system is at least 30% faster. And I've got control of MY PC, I am not being dictated to by Microsoft.
My only criticism is it is based on older versions of Vista and Microsoft have now even blocked some of the fixes used in the book. Let's hope the authors can provide answers to those as well.
