My kids love it!
Moon Sand - Pet Shop My 4 year old son saw the adverts in the telly and spent his birthday money buying his own moon sand set. He loves it and so does his six year old brother!

The two colours of sand that came in the kit did end up mixed together quite quickly and there is a certain amount lost into the hoover every time they have it out, but they were both able to get the sand shapes out of the moulds once I'd shown them how to squeeze the mould as in the instructions.You can also get refill sets of sand for when too much disappears down the hoover.

Both of my sons want more moon sand for Christmas so it's a definite hit in my house, but perhaps the age should be 4+ rather than 3+.

Great idea, poor execution...
...the moulds are just too small and detailed. My kids had fun packing the sand into the moulds, but then couldn't get the models out in one piece. A cat's tail which remains resolutely stuck in the mould quickly becomes frustrating for small children and mummy has to put "Heat" down and step into the breach with a pointy cocktail stick to try to tease the offending bit out. It does tidy up well though.

Great fun lots of entertainment
After reading all the other reviews I had to add mine. Have these people never thought of putting an old sheet on the floor before playing and then you just tip it all back in. My daughter (aged 3) loves moon sand and it keeps her entertained for over an hour at a time. We have tipper trucks and sieves, yes I do agree some of the moulds are difficult but we use cookie cutters and all sorts of house hold utensils for fun. She loves standing in it (handy hint we have it in a very big plastic cat litter tray). I would recommend it to every parent with abit of imagination who doesn't mind a "Little bit" of mess
