Customer Reviews
Nice gadgets -shame about the game
We bought this for our son's Christmas present - he'd enjoyed the movie - and we hoped it would be similar to Mousetrap but hopefully more durable.
I have to say that the bits are well made and much more sturdy than mousetrap, but then at about three times the price you would hope so!
The trap itself slotted together well and works most of the time, but the big disappointment is the game itself. You move round the board picking up tokens with your colour food on it, but it is never really explaind in the instructions what you should do if you don't pick up the correct colour. You are forever having to set off the trap when it will have no effect on the game, and once one person gets infront that is basically it!
The instructions for playing the game are not easy to follow, and appear to have been translated word for word from another language (although they may just be badly written!).
Overall I do feel that for the price I would rather buy mousetrap and then when it breaks (and it will), get another - it's a much more interesting game.
GREAT GAME, JUST AS GOOD OR EVEN BETTER THAN MOUSE TRAP
Wow! what a great game this is, thought that it would be a badly copied version of the famous great Mouse Trap game. Defiantly not in this case, the game is just as good or even better that Mouse Trap. This game is well designed and thought out and the construction is of top quality, something Mouse Trap lacks a little. The object of the game is each player must get his little Remy the Rat around the board safely and to collect all his ingredients and to survive the traps. Each space moved on the board basically counts for something i.e if you land on Skinner the chief you must press the button to set of the trap, but it is linked with a cog system so it may or may not go of with each press. You must land on the plate square to get your ingredients but you must pick your Remi's colour ingredients disc's to keep the ingredients, otherwise you must put the ingredients back for the next correct colour player to see. The winner is the one who collects all his ingredient and puts them in the mixing bowl. The game is great fun for all the family and you will be amazed with the design of the traps, they really do go off every time. Top marks go to Mattel and the designers of this game.
Rats revenge!
This game should be taken off the retail shelves immediately! I struggle to understand how any responsible patent could advocate this game which actively promotes cruelty to animals. Rat traps are inhumane and inflict unspeakable suffering on rats, this seemingly innocent game could serve as a vehicle to encourage our decedents to become vicious rat killers. How could anyone glean enjoyment from a game which traps, chops and blends rats up in to a messy bloody pulp? It is lamentable that depictions of rats in fiction are historically inaccurate and negative. Rats are also often cast in vicious and aggressive roles when in fact they are shy and highly intelligent creatures who live harmoniously within intricate family structures. In Indian tradition rats are recognised as the vehicle of Lord Ganesh and a rat's statue is always found in a temple of Ganesh. The rats at the Karni Mata Temple are held to be destined for reincarnation as Sadhus (Hindu holy men). The attending priests feed milk and grain to the rats, of which the pilgrims also partake. Eating food that has been touched by rats is considered a blessing from god. Join me in my crusade to stop this promotion of cruelty, particularly as this entertainment can influence young minds! Otherwise where with this end? Will the next blockbuster be 'blend bunny' or 'massacre mole'?
