Disappointing new version of this once popular 90s game.
Well, for anyone who may be thinking what a delight it is to see a long awaited welcome return of this fun 90s game, will be disappointed!
OK, so it's now complete with its own music and 'giggling' voice which was not a part of the original, but it's too predictable a game now as a result. Many will remember that the original, 'giggle' only 'wiggled' as and when players laughed, spoke or made a noise - which was more fun in my opinion. It also left open the potential of players being able to 'thwart' and to cause a disadvantage to their opponents by making him 'giggle' deliberately, which made it more fun and competitive, but this new one's constant 'wiggling and giggling' means the game is not so enjoyable... Also, as if this is not enough, this is only half the size of the original - a lot smaller, and not as robust.
This is where games' manufacturers irritate me somewhat as they take an old game - attempt to 'update' or 'revamp' it, but instead fail to move forwards completely, because in their 'mission' , they merely take only one step forwards, whilst taking two steps back... This is what they have done here - and is one of many other titles that MB Games also did that were brought back and 'revamped' and reissued in much smaller versions than they were originally done in the early 90s (Elefun, Loopin' Louie, to name but two examples) So if you ever wondered how they got that enormous game you remember into those new smaller boxes - now you know!
All round - disappointing...
Any 'Stars' I may have awarded for any of the details here for this game, are with the original game in mind, but you will see that my 'displeasure' is reflected in them for this game also in their low scoring...
Not a good 'repro' of a fun game...
Great Fun!!
My family bought this for our 4 year old daughter for Christmas and it has been a great hit not only with her but also us and our 2 year old!
I don't remember it first time round but really the constant movement (with slight pauses) and giggling add to the enjoyment. You race to put all your coloured balls on the hands either bottom to top or vice versa and it has been quite an even race so far between us and our daughter.
Our 2 year old daughter also loves it and keeps asking for it. She is having a good go with the tweezers and manages on the lower hands and she uses her hands for the higher ones but just loves it. She wiggles along with it!
Durability - ours played perfectly on Christmas Day but on Boxing Day it was whining???? We had it exchanged and the new one has been fine so far and it has been played a lot.
This game definately helps with co ordination and is such a fun game (not as easy as you adults think it will be!)
Noisy Toy
My little girl wanted this for Xmas, so we bought it. Shes only played with it a couple of times and each time the music drove me mad. The balls go every where and you spend most of your time collecting them up when the kids 'miss' his hands.
It is bright and colourful and seems well made but only time will tell.
