Manufacturer's Description
Monopoly Here and Now:The World Edition is an exciting, contemporary update to the classic board game. Featuring the same mix of strategy and chance that has made the original Monopoly an international bestseller, this version features cities from around the world, renewable energy utilities, and electronic banking.
Here and Now:The World Edition of Monopoly features cities from around across the globe, including New York, London, Shanghai, and Istanbul. Before the game was produced, millions of people from all over the world voted on which cities should be included. Each property space is completed with a colourful photograph, which makes the board itself a unique centrepiece and conversation starter. Traditional utilities and railroads have been replaced with modern transportation options and renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power.
Six movers are chosen at random from the 24 available pieces for inclusion in each game. You might find a windmill, a soccer ball, or a kangaroo in your set. Similarly, the houses and hotels have been updated to reflect international structures. Another nice touch is the community chest and chance cards featuring quick "Did you know?" facts. These let you learn about Rio Carnival, Munich's traditional Christmas market, the earliest British "passport," and more while you play.
Perhaps the biggest addition to this version is electronic money management. The banker unit offers two slots - one for paying money and one for receiving money.
All these features ensure that this edition will be a big a hit with new and veteran Monopoly players alike, making it a great pick for game night.

Improved Monopoly
This is so much better now that you have no money to fiddle around with.
The credit cards are really cool and i dont know how they keep track of your money, but it never gets it wrong. The machine is really simple to use.this is a great buy and i recomend this to every monopoly fan.
Great Buy
This is a great toy. We have only played it twice but we had a great time. It is a little over priced but the credit card helps the game along a lot quicker than the origional version. The credit card makes it easier to pack away also which helps as th ere isn't lots of money floating around.
Very good buy, would recomend especially if you enjoyed the origional version.
Bizarre Cities but great game
Ok so this is monopoly we all know and love.
It has been updated for this world version.
Firstly as already stated you have credit cards instead of money which makes transactions easier although personally I like having the stacks of money of the original.
Secondly instead of roads you now have world cities. This in principle sounds a great idea however the cities which have been chosen are bizarre. Apparently there was an online vote in early 2008. Unsurprisingly as with all online votes for things like this you get silly results as some cities mobilised there citzens to vote. So instead of park lane and mayfair you have wait for Riga and Montreal. Yes I know bizarre. London the worlds most expensive real estate actually is where trafalgar square would be. Moscow the worlds 3rd most expensive city doesnt even make the board and new york the 2nd most expensive city is down where fleet street is.
The game list and actual list of the world most expensive cities are shown below. I know the game doesnt have to have the worlds 22 most expensive cities in but you would expect them to at least be in the correct order. Having Riga and Montreal above london, new york and tokyo is just bizarre and for cheaper cities why not at least have places we have heard of eg Timbuktu or Zanzibar for old kent road. A lost oportunity here in the sake of political correctness:
Game List / Actual List
Monteal / London
Riga / New York
Cape Town / Moscow
Belgrade / Paris
Paris / Hong Kong
Jerusalem / Tokyo
Hong Kong / Singapore
Beijing / Mumbai (Bombay)
London /Barcelona
New York /Geneva
Sydney / Zurich
Vancouver / Sydney
Shanghai / Madrid
Rome / Turks and Caicos Islands
Toronto / Tel Aviv
Kyiv (Kiev) / Toronto
Istanbul / Auckland
Athens / Warsaw
Barcelona / Cayman Islands
Tokyo / Dubai
Taiei / Bahamas
Gdynia (its a port in poland) / Montreal
I think you will agree the list on the right would have been much better. Funny that Montreal the citzens of which clearly must have voted it into first place in this addition based on the actually city rankings would have been the cheapest and not the most expensive city on the board.
Where as I used to aspire to own Mayfair and Park Lane I cant feel the same about Riga and Montreal. Until they bring out a proper world version based on reality I would stick to the original version.
