Great present!
I bought this for my 49 year old husband for Christmas as he had been dropping not so subtle hints for some time! It took about 12 hours to build, we think. He says the instructions were easy to follow and it is great when made - lots of bits to play with. One really good thing is that you can take it apart and make other things from the parts by downloading instructions from the Lego website. Other people of his age have also thought it was really cool. Educationally, he was able to explain to his 17 year old son how some parts of a car worked using this model.

Great model
This is a good, fun lego model to build, the lights were a bit dimmer than I would have liked but still good, great fun all around I wish there were more choices of models to build but otherwise there was little to fault this set. If you like technic lego this is ideal.

LEGO Technic 8297: Off Roader
I'm very happy with this product. I didn't purchase it from Amazon, I purchased it from my local toy shop at the same price its selling for on this website. I haven't started building it yet but I hope to start soon. I've studyed the 3 instruction books ready to start building and put the bags contaning the little bits on to a tray and the bags containing the bulky bits into a plastic sorting tray. My building start day and date should be tomorrow [Friday 31st].
