All children love colouring books – and they have been known to keep children quiet for hours on end during long journeys and rainy days stuck indoors! Now the popular water drawing toy, Aqua Draw, gives children the chance to colour in cards with their favourite character on, time after time.

The pack contains four cards with the outlines of four different Thomas scenes on each of them. An Aqua Draw Pen is included, which just needs to be filled with water (no ink – no mess!). The child then only has to run the pen nib over the card to bring the colours from the scene to life – so it feels like they have coloured it in themselves!

The colours will then fade away after a couple of minutes so that the scene can be coloured in again and again. Young children will then feel that they have been extremely clever and artistic, as they cannot make a mistake and go outside of the lines as they might do when colouring-in on a normal sheet of paper. Aqua Draw Mini Mats should be very cost effective too – as children can re-use the mats time and time again. No need to keep paying out for crayons and colouring in books!

The four picture cards show the following scenes: Thomas, James and Percy in their engine sheds. Thomas and the Fat Controller. Thomas, James, Henry and Mavis travelling through the Island of Sodor. James travelling through the hills, looking at sheep.

mini-magic
My three year old 'Thomas Fan' loved the aqua draw mini-mats. The activity needed little, if any, supervision so he could draw and colour while mummy made tea or fed the baby.
The four mats held his attention for 20-30 minutes at a time.

great for travelling
We bought these and the winnie the pooh mini mats for our 2 year old before we went travelling and they were a great success. No mess, could pull them out anywhere, and reuse them within a short period of time. In fact we stopped using the water pen that comes with the set, instead using a normal paint brush dipped in water (easier for less coordinated little hands to spread a lot of water and bring the colours up faster) or just finger painting using any available glass of water. They were great for times we wanted to stop and have a coffee and occupy a little one for 10 minutes or so. Handy to pull out on planes too.

Mini mats - great, especially for travelling
My little one is nearly 2, and he adores these - they're like the bigger aquadraw version, so the pens only need water, but this time when you 'colour' the picture, the colours come to life. When it dries, the colours fade to clear again. They're great for travelling, restaurants, etc... the pens provided are mini versions too!
