Manufacturer's Description
Dora the Explorer – Aqua Draw Mini Mats
Now children can Aquadraw their favourite characters – in colour. Simply fill the pen with water and draw to magically reveal a colour scene. No mess and no fuss and impossible to go out of the lines – ideal for young children taking their first creative steps.
All children love colouring books – and they have been known to keep children quiet for hours on end during long journeys and rainy days stuck indoors. Now the popular water drawing toy, Aqua Draw, gives children the chance to colour in cards with their favourite character on, time after time.
The pack contains four cards with the outlines of four different Dora scenes on each of them. An Aquadraw Pen is included, which just needs to be filled with water (no ink – no mess). The child then only has to run the pen nib over the card to bring the colours from the scene to life – so it feels as if they have coloured it in themselves.
The colours will then fade away after a couple of minutes so that the scene can be coloured in again and again.
Young children will then feel that they have been extremely clever and artistic, as they cannot make a mistake and go outside of the lines as they might do when colouring in on a normal sheet of paper.
Aqua Draw Mini Mats should be very cost effective too – as children can re-use the mats time and time again. No need to keep paying out for crayons and colouring-in books!
The four picture cards show the following scenes:
Also available on Amazon – Winnie the Pooh Aqua Draw Mini Mats, Disney Princess Aqua Draw Mini Mats, Thomas and Friends Mini Mats, Spongebob Squarepants Aqua Draw Mini Mats.

Dora Aqua Mat - Tomy don't be so tight
I have an original aqua mat and some Thomas mini mats which I think are great and my 2 and 3 year olds love. However, Tomy have clearly gone out to save money on the Dora mini-mat as it is a lot thinner and flimsier than the other mini-mats. This means that the kids bend and fold the Dora one easily whereas the thickness of the other mats prevent this.
Also, about 70 % of each Dora mat is already coloured in and this leaves only the characters to colour. With the Thomas mini-mat none of it was coloured in and my kids like that more.
DISAPPOINTING !
Very flimsy mats
These Dora Aqua Draw mini mats are very sweet to look at with typical cute Dora and Boots images, however the construction of the mats themselves is unbeliavably thin and flimsy.
The child cannot just sit with the mat on their lap to colour it in, you need something like a book to rest it on. The mats also bend very easily - and you cannot get the creases out which makes them hard to lay flat and actually use. Defiantely not sturdy enough for an average 2-6 year old.
You get a very tiny water pen which runs out very quickly, we also have a regular aquadraw and my little ones use the larger pen from that instead.
boyceebabes
As soon as my 2 year old opened the box, she was rapt with these! She loves colouring but of course is too young to understand not to just scrawl over it all... with these mats that is no problem. They kept her entertained for at least an hour and she goes back to them again and again. I would recommend. Yes the pen is a bit small as a previous reviewer said but I do not consider this a problem. A much loved toy already!
