Comprehensive and nicely designed
Few could reproduce Nick Drake's songs exactly, he was such a unique talent and his own stylistic touches formed a large part of his music in my opinion. However, this book does a good job of laying out the songs for piano and guitar. The guitar tunings are, on the whole, correct and, by listening to the recordings, you can work out how Nick is playing the outlined chords. There is not a true tab, so if you aren't able to improvise around chords this is not for you. The piano part is a decent enough bass and melody line, the usual kind of thing with books like this. Full lyrics are included, and there is a nice section at the front of the book which reproduces all the lyrics amongst a selection of photos of Nick. All of Nick's songs from his three albums are covered, as well as the main songs from the posthumous Time Of No Reply.

Know Your Tunings
This is a wonderful resource for anyone wanting to study the songwriting skills of Nick Drake and learn to play his music. However, you need to know your way around re-tuning strings on a guitar as Drake rarely used the standard tuning. There are only a couple of songs in the collection that use a 'normal' tuning.
