Manufacturer's Description
| The Cyber-shot T70 complements exquisite HD imaging quality with exciting innovations like the new Smile Shutter as well as a clear, wide, extra large touchscreen. |
![]() | Innovative Design with Touchscreen LCD The slim design DSCT70 incorporates a 3 inch touch-sensitive LCD screen for viewing images and has full control over the camera functions. |
![]() | Megapixels Digital photos are made up of dots of coloured light called pixels (picture element). To make a photo requires millions of pixels (Megapixels). The more Megapixels a camera has, the smoother and clearer the photos will be. So, crisp, clear images are assured courtesy of the 8.1 effective Megapixel sensor and Real Imaging Processor. |
![]() | Double Anti-Blur Sony’s Double Anti-blur solution teams Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 3200. This reduces the chances of spoiled pictures while shooting handheld indoors or at dusk without flash. Sony Clear RAW NR processing reduces colour noise and luminance noise for more natural pictures at high sensitivity settings. |
![]() | Zoooom The high quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens gives a powerful 3x optical zoom – great for pulling distant subjects in closer. |
![]() | New Smile Shutter function This enables the camera to automatically react to a smile – a first for digital photography. |
![]() | Face Detection Technology The easy-to-use Face Detection capability helps photographers of all abilities capture great-looking ‘people pictures’ without the risk of spoiled shots. Face Detection automatically adjusts exposure, flash and other settings. Enhanced autofocus performance and advanced eye detection ensure beautifully sharp portraits with natural skin tones – even at high zoom settings, in low light or with moving subjects. |
![]() | Photo TV HD Full HD image display It’s easy to enjoy the finest quality High Definition images captured with the T200 on a BRAVIA or HD Ready display (HD output adapter cable required) so you can share your images with friends and family. Music can accompany the slideshows for an extra dimension of enjoyment to your photos. Just pick from four visual effects (Simple, Nostalgic, Active and Stylish) and four preset musical accompaniments – then watch the show onscreen with HDTV image quality. The slideshows can be personalised further with MP3 background music tracks imported from a PC. |

Technology at its best
Firstly, i would like to suggest that you only buy this camera if you already have experience in using a sony cybershot. Some of the features are really difficult to use as the user interface is rather complex.
It is an awesome camera though! The pictures are crystal clear and crisp, and the anti shake and blur is very good.. as is the close up macro facility. I took a picture of my jeans and you could see the denim grain! Thats how good the focus is. With features such as "smile" whereby the camera automatically takes photos when it detects a smile is very clever!
One problem i did find with this though, is that you cannot change the quality of the photo. IE, with other cameras, you can set image properties such as 'Normal, Fine, or Superfine'. This camera doesnt have that function.
The touch screen is a little bit annoying at times but you get used to it.
The camera overall is very good, neat, and compact. I would highly recommend to anyone, as there are now actual things to fault it with, other than it being a tad hard to use with all its menu features.
Definitely a camera for those who know how to handle future technologies.
Compact, smart and very easy to use
I bought this camera about two weeks ago, and it is fantastic.
Easy to use and very compact. It looks and feels quality in your hand. The screen is big and easy to use. I was worried about the touch screen as a few had said it was tricky and not very responsive. But i must say it is really easy to use and very responsive. It takes phots really quicky, one after another and powers up ready in no time at all. Highly recommended.
Worth paying that little extra for over a canon one for example.
An excellent digital camera
The best thing about this camera is its sturdiness portability. If one is not used to Cybershots, it takes just a little time to understand how it works. Pictures are very clear (though I have not tried in low light yet), macro is fantastic and it feels good in your hands. The only thing I do not particularly like is the lens cover (at the front) which has to be moved up and down (when you intend to shoot or stop shooting) all the time, which adds a little bit to the laboriousness that one would not want from a camera of this type. Otherwise, warmly recommended!!!
