Nice performant laptop
I'm not very knowledgeable about computers, but I am very pleased with how this Vaio works. And windows 7 is better than xp (and obviously than vista). Highly recommend it as a budget sony.
pink laptop. !
found dtls and spec of laptop as you stated , very happy with unit...found fault with charging would not go higher than 80%
having explained problem to cust/serv..agent was Conner , found him very understanding and he promised to ship another without delay ,,,,recvd in 24 hrs from my call...he advised how to return faulty unit which i did , it was collected 3 days later for return to Amazon , can't fault service everything was done fast so very little inconvenience to me ...fault was Sony's not Amazon's ..Conner made it a pleasure to deal with Amazon even with this minor problem.
Much lower quality build than the NS30 and NS20 it replaces
I have been recommending the NS20 and NS30 range to my customers over the past year or so because the build quality was superb. The best feature was the metal construction which meant good cooling for the system, a robust feel and a touch of class to a consumer level product.
Now Sony have gone the way of all companies - price hikes up and as an added bonus they are now entirely cheap plastic construction. The plastic body feel pretty flimsy too.
This was also the first Sony laptop I have had that was delivered faulty (the touchpad did not work and the keyboard only worked intermittently). I am awaiting a replacement but I must say that having been so impressed with previous models I am rather underwhelmed with this one.
I won't be recommending Sony any more - far better deals can be had with Toshiba and Samsung laptops given that the makjor plus of the Sony's was construction and style which has now been stripped away.
