The option of 24 frame output means you can enjoy movies exactly as the director intended. The same goes for sound, with the S360 capable of delivering up to 7.1 channel sound direct to your speaker system. And there’s more. Cinematic picture quality
If you thought DVD pictures looked great compared to conventional TV broadcasts, take a look at the difference the S360 Blu-ray Disc™ Player will make to your viewing experience. Blu-ray Disc™ records and plays back digital data at 40 megabits a second, it can display Full HD images at 1920 x 1080 line resolution with progressive scanning. And that means the S360 brings the ultimate in crisp and fluid images to your screen. New Precision Cinema HD Upscale technology will convert the standard-definition signals of your DVDs to the full HD 1080 equivalent, so you get the best out of your complete movie library.

24p True Cinema for the big screen experience
With 24p True Cinema technology you can sit back and enjoy movies exactly as the director filmed them, at 24 frames a second. Until now, if you watched a movie at home you’d see it played back faster than at the cinema because standard TVs deliver images at 25 frames a second. Selecting 24p True Cinema means viewing is smooth and sharp, so you can take in the real big screen experience.

Exclusive online movie extras with BD-Live
BD-Live enables you to access a range of exciting online services for a rich interactive home entertainment experience. Connect the S360 via an ethernet cable to the internet, install the latest firmware upgrade to your player, and you’re ready to join online blogs, enter competitions, and play games. You can also download exclusive content from a special website dedicated to the movie you’re watching, including trailers, interviews and other special features.

Brilliant colour and master-quality sound
The incredible detail delivered by Blu-Ray Disc™ is enhanced by x.v.Colour technology, which almost doubles the range of colours that can be accurately reproduced on screen. The result is colour that’s as true as the eye can see, with more natural, vivid reds, blues and greens for brilliantly life-like images. Plug the S360 into your HD ready TV using an HDMI™ cable and see how closely the pictures match real life. That goes for sound too. The S360 can accommodate a vast range of audio formats, from stereo right up to uncompressed 7.1 multichannel surround which presents master-quality music and sound through the best possible playback.

Getting it all together with BRAVIA Sync
If your TV is a BRAVIA you’ll be able to control your entire home cinema set-up with just one click of the TV remote, thanks to BRAVIA sync. The remote’s designed to be clear and easy to use, and puts a world of options at your fingertips. Connect your S360 to your BRAVIA TV via HDMI™, and start your movie simply by pressing play. Just one more way to get more out of your Sony products.

    First foray into Blu ray5
I had been looking around for a while for a Blu ray player to go with a Samsung LCD TV and had initially wanted to stay with Samsung for the commonality of remote etc.
But having read positive reviews of this player on a good few sites and Amazon's cracking price I opted to go for this one.

The unit is nice and compact and looks high quality. Plugged the HDMI lead (not supplied# into this and the TV, a patch cable #not supplied# to my router and a memory stick #not supplied) for BD Live features. The setup process was straight forward and done in minutes. You need the internet connection and external storage if you want to use the BD Live on some disks. Also the memory stick socket is in the back so it's just as well to put one in when setting up, they recommend 1GB minimum.

Without any further setting up the Samsung TV and Sony player recognised each other and as soon as the disk went in the TV switched input and displayed up 1080p 24fps. Also you can program the Sony remote to work the on/off and volume on most mainstream TV brands so you can leave the TV remote on the shelf.

Watched a few films so far and the detail/definition is WOW, as good as they make it out to be, I have not felt compelled to fiddle with any settings at all.
The level of detail on buildings on sweeping landscape scenes and close up shots of peoples faces is incredible.
CGI animation such as Star Wars - The Clone Wars is so defined, no fuzzy edges also just as impressive.

Worth every penny if you have shelled out for a HDTV!

    BluRay cures the blues4
At 82 I thought it was time to see what all the fuss about BluRay and HD was really about. I oredered the Sony BDPS360B and in usual Amazon service it was with me extraordinarily quickly. I set about unpacking and being a technophobe was wary about setting it up. It was easy and the instructions actually made sense. Very soon I was able to watch an old holiday DVD of mine. Who were these people with crystal clear faces and how long had I had those wrinkles!!

When I purchased a BluRay disc and played that I thought my lounge was being invaded by wildlife - so good was the reproduction. Why did I have to wait 82 years to witness this and what's next for me?

    Great Blu-Ray5
After looking for some time for a Blu-Ray player (my first) I almost bought the 350 model, but I took so long to decide that the 360 came out first. I am so pleased to have purchased this player, it is excellent, Blu-Ray movies are exceptional and upscaling is far better than I could have hoped for.

I read reports on this unit from American sites who had this player first, and was almost put off by too much "anorak" talk. Do not listen, if you want a player that does the job, plays DVD's in great quality, this is it.

Easy to set up and fast loading of Blu-ray films. I would recommend this player to anyone.
