Hassle-free drive that does exactly what it says on the box5
A basic BD-ROM drive that does exactly what it advertises. Retailed boxed product that comes complete with SATA interface cable, 4x mounting screws, and a replacement standard-size tray front for use with PC cases that have 'flip-down' doors in front of the drives (the fitted translucent tray front is slightly larger than normal and can jam the doors on this kind of PC case). Also includes a wire tool for opening the drive when powered off, which you need to do to change the tray front, and full instructions.

The included PowerDVD software is version 7, which is not the latest version, but works just fine.

I recommend purchasers install the latest firmware for this drive after fitting (available from the Sony website) in order to avoid compatibility problems with newer Blu-ray discs.

If it worked I could leave a review3
I bought this after thinking about it for a long time. I had a PS3 so I didn't need it. But since it was cheap enought it was worth having. The LG model had the lot DH, BD, DVD +/- RW etc. but it was much more expensive. Anyway, I bought it and plugged it in. It looks totally black when I installed it, no artistic inspiration in making it! The only way you can watch BD movies is by installing the Cyberlink DB software. But the Activation key was missing so the movie has sound but no picture. I am not sure if it is because of activation key. I spend two hour trying to get the key from the Cyberlink website but it was very tedious. I managed to log a request for a new key but I had no reply so far after 30 hours. There is no phone to contact them. So the drive is useless to me without that particular software. I can't say anything bad about the drive yet, since its cheap and easy to install but the software was a huge let down. I will update this when i get a reply.

Very easy to install and was very surprised I could pickup a Sony Blu-Ray drive for under £60
