Manufacturer's Description
The Toshiba 37RV555DB LCD TV has Freeview built-in, which enables you to watch all of the Freeview channels.

As well as Full HD 1080p resolution, this Toshiba 37 inch from the RV Series gets the best from HD content by using 100Hz Picture Processing which virtually eliminates motion blur often associated with fast moving sports action with its 24 frames-per-second display - so you're watching exactly what the director intended.

Its dynamic contrast ratio of up to 18,000:1 will plunge you into some breathtakingly realistic on-screen graphics, bringing you the deepest blacks and the brightest colours.

With three HDMI connectors and two scart sockets, you can easily connect your 37RV555DB to a Blu-ray player, a games console or a Home Cinema system. A special Game Mode ensures you get high-grade pictures from the latest games consoles.

With its sleek design, the Toshiba 37RV555DB will look great in any home.

    Fantastic Toshiba TV5
This TV is just superb. Well constructed, stylish, easy to set up, fantastic quality pictures; a great TV for the price. Negative points? The manual is ok but nothing special, and it takes a bit of fiddling to get the picture set up as Brightness, Contrast etc are all set to 100% at the factory, so don't expect a perfect picture straight away. Sound is fine, but, as ever, a decent surround sound hi-fi is really required for movies. However, the Freeview decoder picked up a whopping 87 channels with good reception (and Freeview isn't officially available in our area yet), and the image processing makes both TV and DVDs great to watch; the 100Hz picture is particularly good and worth paying for over a standard 50Hz TV. Overall, for the money this is a excellent TV which performs far better than many more expensive models that I considered.

This could be a long one...4
This was bought as replacement for my Sony Trinitron 100hz CRTV. Loathed to go back to LCD tv (had a philips 26" previously) due to preferring sharpness of the sony, did a lot of research before getting this one, especially as there being very few 100hz on the market at time of purchase(and unlike a lot on the market has kept its price in last 3 months or so). It DOES make a difference when watching sports, and cant wait till the motorsport season gets under way. It took weeks to strike a compromise with all the settings to get it right, as there are MANY sub menus to navigate and set. The 2 options of auto contrast and volume - I suggest leaving the contrast (a healthy and above average 30000:1 on this model)on auto but disabling the volume as it spoils any effects. I think it is primarily there for the neighbours late at night, as any explosions etc are very subdued and the whole thing sounds flat - disabling the mega bass would help as it vibrates the set anyway at low to mid range volume. Picture quality is excellent, I have freeview recorders and blu ray plugged into it via HDMI to get full res, the pvr quality does not match the clarity of the onboard DTV tuner, so prefer to watch live, as recordings get a bit pixelly. It was a bigger leap forward to a 37" from a 28 than I thought (it IS in a small room) but am used to it now, and when the blu ray disc is running, is almost as good as the cinema (apart from the popcorn!)- just need decent surround now, as im still not convinced the sound is as good as the dolby on the sony. And thats where it loses the fifth star, I think the volume lets it down, maybe picky, but otherwise cant fault it apart from no instant start, but presume thats the same with most LCD's? The fact its keeping its price is perhaps testimony of its desirability, but if you are searching around - beware - as the difference between models and specs are a minefield, one letter or number out of place and you could end up with a much lower spec model. This seems like Toshiba are dipping their toes in the larger LCD screen market, and if this is a first attempt, then its a very good one!

    Verry happy.5
I spent ages looking at all the 1080,p tellys out there. I am so glad that I chose this one. I decided to pay the extra to get the 100Hz option I am glad that I did as it does sharpen the picture up quite a bit. I use the TV with a PS3 and am very happy with it. No regrets. The colours are superb even when watching normal TV channels and I find that programmes don't look as fake as they do on some other tv's. I found that turning off the 3D coulour management made the picture better and It did take a few weeks of tweaking to get the settings to my liking. S Club videos are very coulourfull and threfore usefull for adjusting the settings, however you might want to turn the sound down!!!!. I'm sure that if you pay loads more money that there are better TV's out there but I am verry happy with this one.
