Self study or student guide for the New Clait exam
This guide covers all ten units in New Clait, plus the BBC Webwise unit. It has been endorsed by OCR, who seemed to like it, judging by the comments on the cover. It works through all the requirements of the syllabus for each unit, and ends each chapter with an exercise that is in the same style as the OCR assessments. You can downlaod the files needed from the from the ComputerStep web site. The book has checklists for the exercises and provides example answers. This makes it ideal for someone studying on their own, or wanting extra practice for New CLAIT. It can equally well be used by tutors as a classroom guide. The book is based on Windows XP and Office XP with Publisher and Frontpage). It points out the areas that may differ if you are using other versions of Windows or Office, so you can use it even if you have not upgraded yet.
The quality is good, with screen shots and illustrations in full colour. The In Easy Steps format makes a change from the dry text book style presentations that you usually get, and I am looking forward to seeing the next book in the series which is Clait Plus in easy steps.
