Synopsis
Since its introduction to the West a little more than twenty years ago, Reiki has grown from a small circle of a few hundred practitioners scattered across the world to millions of people in practically every country on the globe. Reiki's expansion has been fast, surprising...and very successful. The system has become so widely accepted that insurers in several countries now cover Reiki treatments in their plans. Exploring Reiki introduces this increasingly popular form of hands-on healing by answering the 108 most often-asked questions relating to its practice in commonsense, reader-friendly language. It covers all the practical issues a complete beginner would want to know about while still providing an in-depth and all-round presentation. As a result, Exploring Reiki is as helpful to the curious browser who wishes to get first-hand information from an experienced practitioner as it is to the experienced initiate with questions about a particular aspect of this subtle art of healing. Working with the subtle energy of Reiki can contribute to disease prevention and to everyday harmony, as well as specific, acute or chronic problems.

Three articles in the appendix demonstrate how Reiki fits into the larger context of holistic healing...and a saner approach to health care.

Customer Reviews

A truly helpful and encouraging book5
I love the way Paula Horan writes. When I did Reiki stage 1 I did not really connect with my "teacher" and left feeling rather unconfident about practising. This book completely filled the gaps for me, clearing up lots of outstanding questions, and giving me more of a sense of what I was doing. I find Paula's writing a a really good balance of groundedness and sensitivity, and she manages to outline some potentially esoteric subjects in a really concise and accessible way. She really reinforces the reader's focus in Reiki, and the experiences any practitioner is likely to touch on, rather than getting lost in New Age meanderings as some do. A great great book for one starting out in Reiki.
