Product Description

'I had to go back to New York and try to find him. There was a chance he mightn't be there but I had to give it a go because there was one thing I was certain of: he wasn't here.' Anna Walsh is officially a wreck. She's covered in bandages and she's lying in her parents' Good Front Room dreaming of leaving Dublin and getting back to New York, to her friends, to the most fabulous job in the world(t) - and most of all, back to her husband, Aiden. But her family have other ideas (not to mention the usual problems that beset the Walsh sisters). And Aiden, for some reason, seems unwilling to get in touch. What happened to Anna to send her so far from all that she loves? And what happened to her marriage that her husband won't talk to her?

Editorial Reviews

Review
The jokes are as good as ever, Keyes' large cast of Irish and American characters fizz and crackle off the page. High quality entertainment (Marie Claire )

It takes real talent to make a reader laugh and cry … the story will stay with you long after you've read the last page (Heat )

The novel is a rare blend of genres, a richly enjoyable satire and an inspirational tale of one woman's triumph over despair (Daily )

Keyes writes brilliantly, as always, about love, grief, jealousy and friendship (Daily Mail )

From the Inside Flap
Dubliner Anna is the fourth of five Walsh sisters who seems to have it all - gorgeous husband Aidan, an apartment in Manhattan and The Best Job In The World. So it's not surprising she doesn't want to stay for long in her parents' Good Front Room in Blackrock, where there's nothing to do but watch the antics of her sister Helen who spends most of her time hiding in bushes with binoculars trying to catch errant spouses 'at it'.

Anna doesn't wait too long before heading back to her life in New York - her ridiculous mandatory work wardrobe and gut-clenching Monday Morning Meetings, the city of eight minute speeding dating, the Labradoodle and Feathery Strokers.

Back in Manhattan Anna sees Aidan everywhere - walking down the street and passing by in a bus - so why won't he return her calls or emails?

Meanwhile, Helen's professional life becomes weirder than fiction when she gets entangled in the Dublin criminal underworld and is charged with spying on Mrs Big and Racey O'Grady. And who is the old lady encouraging her dog to do 'his business' outside the Walsh house? And how far is Mammy Walsh willing to go to put a stop to it?

One thing's for sure, when the Walsh women get together there's no telling how things will turn out…

Hold onto your handbags for the new Marian Keyes!

Marian Does it Again5
It was with great surprise and delight that I spotted this, on 19th February in Leeds Bradford Airport; the best holiday read one could wish for.
Marian is the queen of chick lit and in my opinion her best novels are about the Walsh family. Anybody Out There? concerns Anna, the fourth daughter and includes a mini, e mail plot involving Helen, the youngest and most eccentric. For the first time since Rachel's Holiday we meet all the girls together again and our curiosity about their lives is well satisfied. Mammy Walsh continues to be absolutely barking and serves up some hysterical one liners in her attempts to steamroller a family wedding. Marian deftly steers an emotional roller coaster
of a plot to a very satisfying conclusion.
It's like a big box of irresisitible chocolates; you gobble it all up as fast as you can then wish you hadn't finished it so quickly!

Another Walsh sister's story5
In this book, we find out more about Anna, the sister portrayed as a dreamy space cadet in the other books. In this one, she's grown up and not quite the flake she's made out to be. This book deals beautifully with grief and loss, but isn't at all depressing. Very affecting, one of Marian's best. Thorougly recommended.

Another fantastic read from Keyes5
I was thrilled to find Anybody Out There on sale the other day- I love Marian Keyes and the books about the Walsh sisters are, in my opinion, her best. This book had me crying twice and laughing often; she manages to convey a terrible sense of loss whilst keeping the book humerous and light- I would definately recommend it. Just waiting for the 'Helen' installment of the Walsh saga now!
