Product Description

Following the success of the first book, published by the author in March 2004, and because of the many letters sent to the author with requests for specific information, the Second Edition, with 70 more pages than the first, goes into more detail with step-by-step instructions on submitting applications to Trafico, safety tips to help survival on the roads in Spain, updated laws, and how to avoid having to go to Trafico which is often, for many, hours away. Written in an easy to read way and supported by a web-site to keep the information up to date, this book is the definitive reference guide. Designed to be carried in the car: just in case! A must have for anyone visiting or living there, and driving on the roads.

About the Author
Brian Deller has retired and has written this book as there is a real need for it in Spain. Sad tales abound of ex-pats falling foul of the law uneccessarily and paying large fines or even being banned because of ignorance of the rules, and also many bar-room arguments are answered with this book (as reported by readers). The cost of the book is soon saved the first time you have to deal with Trafico, and find you can do it all by post with the easy to follow instructions. Even the standard road accident insurance report form is in the book, in English.

An essential guide for drivers in Spain5
I have just recently purchased the book "Motoring in Spain" by Brian Deller and found it an extremely useful and up to date guide for the motorist in Spain. There are many British residents living on the Spanish Costas, most of whom cannot speak Spanish and are totally unaware of the Spanish laws regarding car documentation, traffic, road signs etc. There are plenty of books available on living in Spain, most of which cover property issues, taxation, health care. This is the first book I have had the luck to find which is a fully comprehensive and easy to follow guide relating specifically to motoring issues and also includes a very useful section relating to the current road traffic signs. The various sections in the book which give Spanish/English translations are particularly useful and practical, even for a visit to the local garage for general car servicing. The section relating to UK and Spanish licences is very important. Prior to my purchasing this book, most of the information being passed around by expats is based on "hearsay" and conversations overheard in bars, none of them based on actual fact, and this book clarifies most driving issues. I consider this book to be an essential guide to those driving in Spain, either as residents or holidaymakers.

A Must for Driving Visitors to Spain5
Anyone visiting Spain who intends to drive a car or ride a motorcycle there should read this book before they go, even if the main reason is to drive off a tee! It will not only give you confidence driving in a country where many of the signs are new to us visitors, with the Spanish government's new campaigns to reduce the high road accident rates there, it could save you money, - or your life.

First class motoring handbook5
I recently visited Spain and found the handbook to be invaluable. There are so many useful tips in the book. I was astounded by how many different road signs which we don't have in the UK. Excellent book.
