Synopsis
Mallorca is one of the Mediterranean's most popular and beautiful islands with attractions and activities ranging from the cosmopolitan streetlife of Palma to established beach resorts and beautiful towns of Deia and Valldemossa. The Rough Guide map will make exploring the island by car that much simpler with information on all the routes from the main roads to unsurfaced tracks. The map pinpoints the location of many attractions and places of interest, including golf courses, churches, monasteries, palaces and archeological sites. As with all the maps in the Rough Guides series, this map is made of rip-proof, waterproof Polyart paper, durable enough to survive a trip spent in the car seat-back, rucksack, and cafe table-top.

First impressions
I've just received this map and my first impressions are that it's quite out of date, even though it was supposedly published in 2005. Trying to follow directions from the airport to a resort I'm going to next week, I notice the MA19 motorway is marked here as the PM19 and runs out shortly after Junction 11, whereas the directions say to turn off at Junction 20! Checking a Mallorca map online it's clear that the motorway has been extended a number of miles and that the name has been changed. It wouldn't be so bad if the extension was marked as a plan for the future as happens on most maps but it just ends here and turns into the PM602. I haven't discovered yet how many other roads on the island have changed. Can anyone recommend an up-to-date map of Mallorca?
