Bob Burns is an old-fashioned kind of Scottish sleuth, more interested in catching villains than brown-nosing to get promotion. So, when his enquiries into a brutal and bizarre murder are blocked by his bosses, should he risk losing his career by carrying on his investigations? Encouraged by an attractive-though-maverick forensic scientist and assisted by a keener-than-bright young constable, Bob does it his way. The trail leads the trio from Scotland to Mallorca, where intrigue and mayhem mingle with the crowds at a fishermen's fiesta. A rare combination of suspense and comedy, with a real twist in the tail.

Travel fiction humorous crime writing
If you're already a fan of Peter's Mallorca series, then have no fear you will enjoy this too!
It's an entertaining read, with a good plot and plenty of humour too.
Feeble
I bought this on the strength of the customer reviews. Five stars?? For writing in Scotland, that means Rankin, Rowland and Mina.
This book is very pedestrian and not very credible.
Okay, but...........
This book didn't have as much of its story set in Mallorca as I'd hoped, as it was one of the reasons I bought a crime thriller set in the island. The 'twist at the end' was obvious quite early on and parts of the dialogue were a bit cheesy, but I finished it in spite of this and still enjoyed it.
