Customer Reviews
Simple and ineffective
This product adopts a very simplistic approach to studying verbs, just hours and hours of someone reciting verb conjugations with the unexplained omission of second person pluriel. There is no attempt to put tenses in context, teach usage, or put emphasis on irregular verbs, so you have to sit through 45 minutes of regular verbs that all conjugate the same before getting to the irregular ones that are hard to remember.
It's still a decent way to learn conjugation but it's disappointing they didn't even make a token effort to add some structure, insight, or interest into their presentation.
buy it!
after reading some reviews i was reluctant to buy this. but whilst i have been learning spanish the vocab has been fairly easy but the conjugation and meaning of verbs was not sinking in. this cd has helped to put the bones into the language. yes it is a bit repetetive but what else can it be? all learning has a mundane but necessary aspect and this is. but it works, you learn quickly and even if you switch off mentally for a while, you can easily slide back into it. after only 2 listens i tested myself and was amazed how much i had learned. the omission of the second person plural is inconvenient but no big deal really.
