Not Just Tarot Cards
Here you will find a wealth of beautiful imagery, that captures the imagination and whisks you into the world of Arthurian Legend, and brings it to life...
King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, and the ensuing quests, was a world and time I loved to dream and write about as a child. As an adult "Legend:The Arthurain Tarot" has enriched my imagination, replensished my wells of inspiration, guided me to clarity, and aided as a focus in meditation and creative visualisations.
The accompanying book "A Keeper of Words" is well written, well informed, well presented, and a pleasure to read with the traditional interpretation of tarot cards alongside the story/legend behind the images & characters portrayed.
An absolute treasure for any Arthurian, and enriching for any Tarot enthusiast.
One of the Very Best
This was my very first deck, and I am now totally spoild for any other! Though I now have used more tradition decks like the Ryder-Waite, etc, none come close to the pure joy I get from seeing the tales of Kind Arthur come to life before me. The other nice thing about the deck, is it isn't so focused on Christian symbolism, like "The Devil" Or the traditional "Justice" card.
The other nice thing about the deck is the Arthurian symbolism does give you a more in depth reading beyond the traditional. I've found at times that the legend of a card may have more to do with the situation I may be in, than the traditional interpritation.
A wonderful, well done set. Beautiful to look at, a pure joy to use. The Book & Deck really are a must.
One of the best decks I've used
I have been reading Tarot for two years now, beginning with the standard Rider-Waite deck...over the years I have collected many tarot decks in a search to find the deck I worked best with...Legend is it.
The artwork is exquisite, beautifully detailed watercolors that immediately capture the attention of the viewer.
To help the inexperienced reader, the book "Keeper of Words" is included in the deck, a well written, thoroughly researched guide to reading Legend. In addition to black and white reproductions of each card accompanying a explanation of its meaning, there is also a short history of each character depicted on the cards.
I liked the way each card was dedicated to a different and fitting character in the Legend of King Arthur. I found the deck easy to work with and pleasant to look at. I even like just taking out the guide and reading it. The book explains everything so well and it's also very informative as to Arthurian History. I gave the deck a 10.
