DVD Description
Look!... It's Jane Torvill back to her gold medal winning shape! "I've lost two stone and dropped four dress sizes!" And here's how the Olympic skating star can help you lose it too--no ice, just cool moves and lots of fat burning.
"Hello there, after I gave up professional skating the weight really crept on, so when I got to 10 stone (at just 5 feet 2 inches) I knew I had to do something about it. Well, after four months I got back down to my skater weight of eight stone. I've dropped four dress sizes and feel fantastic. Now I've devised a routine using my favourite fat burning moves that'll help you to lose weight and tone up--without getting your skates on. Dynamic trainer Dan Little guides you through it, plus there's some music you might just recognise--Ravel's Bolero gets a funky update! So if you want to lose it, give it a try--it's great fun and you will definitely see results!" Jayne Torvill

I wanted to love it
As my title says, I really wanted to love it but in the end, it was slightly disappointing. Some of that isn't the DVD's fault: I'm pretty fit and the cardio sections weren't hard enough for me. They were quite fun and with more intervals would have been ok, but I simply didn't break a sweat.
Plus points: The cueing was some of the best I've seen on British DVDs and even rivalled the best of the Americans, and there were plenty of reminders about form. The toning section was in fact excellent for something of that length. Jane looks AMAZING and not just for her age; clearly, that didn't happen through doing this routine, but it is motivating nonetheless. The trainer is cute.
BUT the camerawork is too often rubbish (this would matter less once you knew the DVD, of course), including a couple of times in the toning section where it really matters, there were far, far too many glides and similar (given that most home exercisers will be working out on carpet this is plain irresponsible: glides on carpet are terrible for the knees), and even if it suits your fitness level at first better than it does mine, you aren't going to be able to grow with it. The exception to this is the toning section, which is probably too hard for beginners!
None of this would matter much if you chose to use it for light days, but then I would want a shorter DVD; if I work out for 55 minutes, I want to know about it.
I have given it four stars because in fairness, the difficulty factor is not necessarily a bad thing for all and I do think there are some good things here.
Pity. But I am sure some people out there will love it.
Not hard enough
Good fun workout, but not really hard enough for me. I didn't work up a sweat or feel I had worked.
However Jayne looks great and her trainer is dead cute which makes up for it.
Would recommend it for beginners.
Fun Fitness!
I bought this as I am a fan of Jayne Torvill, and I wanted to tone up and lose a bit of weight after the christmas period. As usual. So I took a chance on this DVD having pretty low expectations, to be honest, but surprisingly, this DVD i probably in my top 3 best fitness DVD's. Being a fan, I though I'd love it immediately, but I didn't, however, after I did it once, I wanted to do it again and again.
I think this is great for working the arms and abs, with the amount of glides you do, your arms will definately be toned.
Jayne looks AMAZING for her age! and this must be an inspiration for anyone right? People should try this for a great fun workout!
Definately Recommended!
