Everyone can relate to F**k It. The Times. Saying Fuck It is like a massage for the mind: relaxing you, releasing tension, allowing you to give up on things that aren't working. Just starting to say Fuck It can transform your life. And John C. Parkin argues that saying Fuck It is a spiritual act: that it is the perfect western expression of the eastern ideas of letting go, giving up and finding real freedom by realising that things don't matter so much (if at all). This is the Fuck It way.

About the Author
John C. Parkin, the son of Anglican preachers, realised that saying Fuck It was as good as all the eastern spiritual practices he d been studying for 20 years. Having said Fuck It to a top job in London, he escaped to Italy to set up the retreat centre The Hill That Breathes, where he now teaches regular Fuck It Weeks with his wife Gaia. He has been featured on TV, such as The Graham Norton Show, and in the national press, including The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Psychologies, Cosmopolitan and Red Magazine.

A new message
This was a very light hearted read, it was funny and carried a new kind of message, which was to just say "F*ck it" to everything. The author used to live a stressful life until one day he decided to give up and let go of all the stress and began to live one day at a time, doing whatever he liked. He then said "F*ck it" to everything which was no fun at all. He packed in his boring old job and moved away to live the life that he always wanted to. It is a very zen-ish spiritual message, since it involves surrendering and giving up the effort to control any aspect of life, doing whatever you want and not worrying about the future, so in that way it is all about living in the moment. Reminds me of the book Finding Reality, which carries it's own spiritual "F*ck it" message. I recommend both books!
Please move over there is a new me coming through!
The philosophy of 'F**k It' is similar in many ways to the Thelemic Law of 'Do What Thou Wilt' - neither of which, it should be added, are a license to laziness, excesses and debauchery (unfortunately)!. They are, however, central to an increasingly popular paradigm that modern is simply so darned difficult to live these days that in the struggle we often lose sight of a wholly different, and thoroughly more exciting, aspect to ourselves.
How do we regain it? Well, the process is simple in definition but complex to exhibit. Having the strength to let the grasp of social convention release itself from our souls is a scary thing to contemplate but once you understand the metaphysics behind this form of thinking it becomes much easier to carry out. Which is where this book comes in. Written, as it is, in an engaging and entertaining way I found that reading it released more dead energy in me than a month of fasting or a year of visits to the local gym. If you are up to the challenge of letting go of everything you thought was important to you then I thoroughly recommend this book. Its a wonderfully liberating experience.
Great Cover; OK inside
The cover is very good indeed and should help sell the book. The book itself is OK and maybe worth a read but its not memorable and after reading through I'm left with a shrug of the shoulders ; was it worth reading... and what the hell is he trying to say that cannot be said in one page.
"Dont sweat the small stuff" though old is more powerful and better written.
Marketing-wise F***it (whats the point in having such a bold title if you cant print it) has been fortunate,as 2009 is going to be a year when people will need the message to "not give a damm" but there must (and are/will) be better books.
