CD Description
When Guy Clark discusses the art and craft of song-writing, people listen. He has, after all, been writing songs of uncommon quality for nearly four decades, songs like “L.A. Freeway,” “Desperados Waiting For a Train,” “The Randall Knife,” and “Texas, 1947.” Somedays the Song Writes You is the 13th album in his collection and many are calling it his finest work in decades.

Another superb album
Just listened to this for the first time en route to work this morning - beautiful, heartfelt songs as I have come to expect from this artist; been a fan since I saw him with Peter Rowan, John Stewart & the great Townes van Zandt many years ago in Perth (Scotland). Unfortunately Messrs Stewart & van Zandt are no longer with us, but Guy is going strong - long may he continue to do so.

Another superb CD from Guy Clark
The latest CD from Guy Clark, Somedays the Song Writes You is superb!
If you liked his last CD, Workbench Songs I think you will love this one.
The haunting 'The Guitar' almost makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it, and 'If I Needed You is just a beautiful song.
'Hemingways Whiskey' is typical Guy Clark.
Like whiskey this Guy just gets better with age !

Just the most delightful album I have heard this year. Beautiful song writing and the acoustic instruments led me to imagine sitting in on a private jam session in Guy's kitchen! Intricate yet understated guitar and mandolin work, bass, and a touch of percussion make this an album to savour, and his voice is as good as ever, so relaxing and intimate. Can't recommend highly enough.
