DVD Description
Gavin and Stacey have moved to Wales. Stacey couldn't be happier now she’s back with her mum Gwen, her uncle Bryn and a daily diet of omelettes. Gavin on the other hand is adjusting to life in Barry, and although he won't admit it, he's missing his parents Pam and Mick and of course, his best friend Smithy.

Smithy is bereft in Essex without Gav, and is trying to get used to the fact that his son, Neil the baby, is now living in a caravan with mum Nessa and soon-to-be stepfather Dave Coaches.

In the third and final series of this award winning comedy, we find out once again that there’s nothing predictable about families and friends…whichever side of the Severn Bridge they live on.

A premaure release and a tidy conclusion5
A lot of people seem to be complaining that this series has been released on DVD before it had finished its broadcast run on BBC1. Why worry? I wish every series followed suit so you could watch them at your leisure and not worry about programming the video...or, worse still, staying in. I'm sure Smithy would approve, especially as there are now so many foam parties to go to in Basildon. Hats off to this series for blazing some kind of trail - long may it continue!

As for the content, there is some great stuff here for all fans of the series. The guests at the wedding in the final episode are inspired (and I bet they didn't need that much persuading, given the popularity of this show) while any sentimental moments are always undercut by the quirky comedy (in addition to the Wests and the Shipmans, we now discover that neighbour Peter's surname is Sutcliffe!), keeping it all as lovable and as addictive as ever. Nothing will disappoint. In fact, Barry Island in summer looks superb -what a contrast to how it looks in the winter rain!

I would say more, but some of you are still probably watching it on telly, so I won't spoil it for you!

Tidy5
When they announced they were making a third series, lots of people worried that it wouldn't be as good as the first two. In actual fact it's BETTER!

Series three sees all of the characters we love return. Some of the situations are a little bit too contrived (e.g. Pete and Dawn's marriage renewal) but it doesn't matter when the comedy is this good. Series three hits a lovely balance between touching and darkly funny and there are so many memorable moments here: Smithy buying a suit, Bryn out on the town, Stacey facing down her nemesis in the local chemist and Gavin trying to buy Nessa a drink on the beach. The final episode is wonderful: amazing acting from James Corden and a believeable ending that doesn't go over the top.

In a word... immense! If you're a fan of the first two you won't be disappointed here.

I won't lie to you5
