Great Camera5
I am another one who has no idea what the first review is on about!!! I used my camera to film around Las Vegas and the sun is a little bright there, if you get a reflection just angle the screen a little, not rocket science, but perhaps it is to him. all the other Sony HDD camcorders have the same screen and do you see anyone else moaning?. The touch screen is easy, try reading the instructions ???. The night vision mode is fantastic and makes the cat wonder how I can now see in the dark. as with all Sony products the build quality is amazing and the size is remarkable, its only a little bigger than my point and shoot still camera and fits into the palm of my hand. at the end of the day it becomes easy to use after you get used to its small size and the lack of too big buttons. I am very happy with my camera, it fits in a little bag on my belt and is very very easy to use. if I could give it six stars I would.

Does what it says it does4
I am not sure what the other user here is talking about as I have no problems with lighting issues with this camera and have found it responsive and really easy to use.

I purchased this camcorder because I wanted the long record time and the nightshot feature for my hobby. There is only really one problem I have had with this camcorder is that it does not have a mic jack socket which is a big disadvantage if you, like me, make short films and use a radio mic.

You can get a mic that slots into the 'shoe' on top of the camcorder but, of course this can get expensive.

All in all this camcorder does what it says it does without too many bells and whistles.

exellent easy to use camcorder5
i only recieved my camcorder yesterday and i already know how to use all of its functions. i was looking at buying this or the dcr-sr210 but im glad i saved myself the extra £100 by getting this one. both the sound and picture quality is exellent and for a 1 meg still shot the result is impressive. the only negative thing is the software included, i installed it then uninstalled it an hour later, its rubbish. i found that windows movie maker is much more user friendly. battery included is a little poor but i dont think any camara comes with a good one. all in all exellent value for money
