Critically, commercially and artistically, director Peter Cattaneo's clever meditation on the male ego, disguised as a risqué strip-club comedy, was one of 1997's most gratifying films. With a soundtrack of mid-1970s to more recent vintage pop (including Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing", Tom Jones's bawdy take on Randy Newman's "You Can Leave Your Hat On", Wilson Pickett's raucous "Land of 1,000 Dances", Irene Cara's "Flashdance--What a Feeling") and scoring by Art of Noise alum Anne Dudley, The Full Monty holds its own as a thematic album. Excellent soundtrack!
This is a really fantastic soundtrack. All the songs capture the essence of what was without a doubt one of the funniest films of the year. Songs like hot stuff will have you dancing round your living room in no time!!

Re-live the stage show!
This CD features 15 songs performed by the original Broadway cast of the show.

If you have seen the stage show of 'The Full Monty', you'll know it's exciting, lively, funny and touching. For those who have only seen the film, this CD may be quite different to your expectations. The stage show is an American version of the film, so if you're expecting Sheffield accents, you may be surprised! The names of the characters are also different to the original ones.

That said, the songs are entertaining, lively and amusing (take 'Big-Ass Rock' for example, when the guys try to deter their new friend from committing suicide). If you have seen the stage show, you'll remember the songs and the outstanding performances of the actors. But even if you haven't seen it, this is a great CD, especially if you like musical theatre.
