"Your team will land on the forest moon of Endor."5
Lego continue to celebrate their 10th anniversary for Star Wars Lego with set 8038, the massive Battle of Endor set. This set has a whopping 12 figures and features the Endor bunker, a Rothana Heavy Engineering / Kuat Drive Yards All Terrain Scout Transport, 2 Aratech 74-Z speeder bikes, an Ewok glider and an Ewok catapult.
The speeder bikes are similar in construction to the one with 2008's 7676 Republic Attack Gunship and feature positionable flight controls and outrigger vectrals.
The bikes are 13 cm long, 3 cm wide and 3 cm tall.
The Ewok catapult is much better than the one from 2002's 7139 Ewok Attack and the swing launching mechanism really allows you to hurl rocks a long way. It comes with 4 rock projectiles to fling at the nearest Imperial walker.
The catapult is 9.5 cm wide on base, 13 cm long (to end of catapult arm) and 4 cm tall.
The Ewok glider, like the catapult is better than the on from set 7139 and there is a small hook at the back which holds the stones in. You open it out and the stone drops off onto some unsuspecting villain below. The glider comes with 3 stones and the clear stand allows for the glider to be angled in any position through 90 degrees. The only problem is that the clip attaches to the figure's feet and comes off easily when moved.
The glider has a wingspan of 17 cm, is 12.5 cm long and when attached to the base can stand up to 19 cm tall.
The AT-ST is quite possibly the best version of the vehicle to date. Built more with the UCS AT-ST design in mind is has several play features. On the back there is a large cog and when you turn it the legs swing forward and back to simulate walking. The main Taim And Bak MS-4 twin blaster cannon on the chin rotates up and down through 120 degrees. The light E-Web twin blaster cannon on the port side of the head rotates the full 360 degrees and the Dymek DW-3 concussion grenade launcher on the starboard side also rotated the full 360 and has a firing flick missile. The roof has a top hatch but the whole thing can life up as well. There is room inside for one figure.
The AT-ST is 14 cm long (from chin gun to aft leg guard), has a foot span of 10 cm and is 20 cm tall.
The bunker itself is a great playset but collector's will probably want to get two to make the whole thing. The front doors slide open by using a cog mechanism inside. The round domes on each side of the roof at the front, when pressed down, cause the front and side wall panels to explode outwards to simulate battle damage.
the two side walls can hinge open for easy access and play. There is a control station in the middle with two rotating seats. The two side areas are identical and feature 2 power regulators, a control panel and 2 clips, one with a black blaster rifle and 1 with a black heavy assault rifle.
When closed up the bunker is 25.5 cm wide, 19.5 cm long and 10 cm tall. When opened out the bunker is 42 m wide, 20 cm long and 10 cm tall.
You get a whopping 12 figures with this set and 8 of them are new. For the Imperial forces there's an Imperial Trooper and 2 Biker Scouts.
There are 3 brand new Ewok figures; Chief Chirpa (complete with ceremonial staff), Paploo (armed with a bow and arrow) and Wicket (with spear) all of which are nicely detailed and look great.
There is also Han's assault team which consists of Han Solo, Chewbacca (both of which are reissues) and 4 new figures in the shape of Princess Leia in Endor outfit, R2-D2 with new body markings and 2 Rebel Commando Troopers. The troopers are different. One sports a beard and is armed with a black heavy assault rifle and the other is clean shaven and has a black blaster rifle. They both have brilliant Endor combat helmets and backpacks.
the kit comprises 821 pieces (not including figures, weapons and accessories) and total construction time is about 90 minutes.
A fantastic Lego set and one of the best playsets they have ever released.

Grossly Overpriced1
This seller is attempting to make a fast buck at the expense of honest buyers. This set is grossly overpriced. Check other sellers or shops, do not buy from this seller. I paid 74.99 about a month ago.

The toy itself is excellent and up to the usual standards you would expect from a LEGO product.
