Very Helpful
I have yet to take my driving theory test as I'm still making my way through this book trying to remember everything. This book simply contains all the questions and answers that may appear on your drivers theory test. It is the up to date one for 2008 - 2009 so obviously it's for anyone thinking of taking their test in the next year.
You don't really learn anything from this book, you simply have to remember the questions and the answers. I personally feel that through reading this, most of the questions are genuine common sense, so have skipped some chapters, but others such as highway code and signs I have read repeatedly to have them imprinted on my mind.
A good book that means if you've got a good memory, then you're almost guaranteed a pass.
Does what it says on the tin...
The Official DSA Theory Test for Car Drivers and The Official Highway 2008/09 Edition.
Is worth having the up to date edition. Do not settle for out of date cheaper version of last years lot.
Note: would recommend getting the complete edition (this one is book only) that also includes DVD as that will help with "Hazard Perception" and further aspects of the Theory Test.
Good Money-making series *cough* scam
Well has all the questions available - so all you have to do is memorize them and give the "answers" *it* says are right. So you dont actually *learn* anything.
Bit of a money-making scheme to be honest because you can bet next years questions will be ohh soo slightly different to make it worthwhile buying. Example: i looked at the 2006 edition and this edition and a lot of the questions are the same but the answers are different e.g. marking 4 answers instead of 3 as before. (and the extra answer was one from the new book that didn't appear before)
Its fascinating that each year the answers change - should that mean that everyone should have to resit their theory test each year?
SCAM - but one you are compelled to invest in if you want to drive! Sorry but thats the truth - i await the negative ratings with relish.
Gave it 4 stars because it does do what it says no denying that. And i'm sure next years will be equally brilliant as well and it'll be a bestseller also.. not through choice do people buy this book... but through necessity...
