Good, but hindered by a few dreadful things
This is a good laptop which could have been great.

The good
It has a sleek and appealing look to it, the screen display is amazing and it delivers strong application power for its size. Lots of useful keyboard shortcuts and decent battery life (though this depends on what you do with it).
HDMI port, sd card reader and battery strength checker which allows you to see how much power is left without switching the unit on.

The bad
Samsung however spoil things by deciding that the consumer does not need certain obvious things; like sound. The result is the most dreadful sound card/speaker combination I have ever experienced in a laptop. You might as well be hearing the sound from one of those 'mcdonalds happy meal toys'. This flaw is glaringly still noticeable even when you connect to external speakers.There is also no physical volume control and the speakers are located underneath the unit.

There is no open button as with other laptops, which makes the unit impossible to open with one hand.

The power button is located way too close to the 'delete' button, but you could get used to this.

The 2.2kg weight given by Samsung does not include the battery. They should be clearer on this.

The AC plug inlet is located at the side of the unit next to the usb, making it hard to use a mouse sometimes. Would have been better at the back, out of the way.

Should you get it?
That depends; if sound is not too important to you, the I would reccomend this. If on the other hand you intend to listen to anything.....then I would look elsewhere.

I gave it only three stars because it seems Samsung started with a great laptop, then got rushed into finishing it and thought 'what the heck'. I am amazed that someone at Samsung actually thought it was OK to sell a laptop wihh such dreadful sound output. Shame; because it could have been an excellent laptop for the price.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
This laptop is brilliant!!! Dont listen to the bad reviews becuase they're picking at straws, when this is just an all round excellent performer.
It has a high RAM so makes Windows 7 run flawlessly, without any waiting around for programs to load.
Contains a great NVidia graphics card, allowing you to play PC games with no lagging whatsoever.
Admittedly, the speakers aren't great, but good enough, and obviously if you wanted to watch films and play games on your laptop you would buy external speakers anyway, as you would for any laptop.
It has a good dual processor so running multiple programs is no issue.
Also, this laptop is a great size, as it isn't too small like a notebook, and isnt big and bulky, making it very portable, and the battery life means that i can use it for hours until it runs out.
Also, a handy battery meter on the bottom of the laptop allows you to see how much charge the battery has left without having to turn it on.
The HDMI port means i can plug the laptop easily into my HD monitor, with excellent resolution, and various other ports such as the eSATA and chargable USB are also very useful.
The built-in camera is very good quality, and comes with software similar to Apple's which allows you to play around with distortion and overlays for it, which is good fun.
Another point about this laptop is that it looks fantastic, with the screen being part of a larger glass panel, so there are no bumps where the screen meets the edges. Also, the keys are very typer-friendly, and quite large relative to the size of the laptop.
Overall, this laptop was an excellent buy for me as it seems to be able to do anything you ask of it with no problem, and with very few negatives, is a must-buy for anyone pondering whether to chose this one over any others.

Excellent Laptop
Bought for my wife's business, This laptop has a quality feel and the performance is excellent for the tasks she needs. Recommended. The usual great service from Amazon meant it arrived on time.
