It's very tough deciding whether it's Layla or Dark Side of the Moon that's the greatest album ever. Layla obviously comes top of the Clapton list though.

Classic British Blues revolution stuff with some blistering finger twiddling guitar work from Clapton.

The most fun album on the list and one that never fails to brighten up my day. Worth noting the presence of future Dominos Radle, Whitlock and Gordon in the backing group.

A perfect balance between famous guitar licks and semi serious drug addled whimsy that hits the spot. A classic. That's seven different artists on the list already.

A chilling out album. I think it's great, even if that does qualify me as a middle-of-the-road cardigan-wearing old fart.

Inconsistent. It's not until the second disc that Clapton really lets loose. But when he does......

What would Pink Floyd be like with Clapton in place of Gilmour? Here's your answer. Wright & Mason missing too, but you get my point. Some great guitar solos, but Gilmour's songwriting is missed.

White Room and Crossroads are classic tracks but too much surreal whimsy prog stuff in the studio (reminiscent of Piper at Gates of Dawn by Pink Floyd) and too much self indulgent live jamming.

A pleasant listen but the lack of a real guitar workout ultimately disappoints.

That's the music ranked. But also worth mentioning this very honest autobiography that doesn't attempt to hide the pain and shame in his past. Stay happy Eric.
