Starting with the store cupboard Rose Elliot gives tips on what to have in stock to ensure you always have the basis of a quick meal or snack. Then, each of the six chapters is based around the key main ingredients: bread; eggs, Cheese and Dairy Foods; pasta; pulses, grains and nuts; vegetables; fruit. The "meals in minutes" ideas include quick pizzas, pittas and crostini, filling frittatas and tortillas, spicy lentil burgers, risottos, soups, dozens of pasta dishes, gratins and grills, stir fries and salads and plenty of desserts and puddings. There are also recipes that might take a little longer, but no longer than half an hour.

The best vegetarian book in the world
This book is Rose elliots best yet. The meals are quick and easy to do and they taste fantastic. The variety in the book is really good, there is something for everyone. Also once you have your cupboard well stocked with essentials the meals don't cost a fortune either. I would definately recommend this book to anyone vegetarian or not.
home cooking in a flash
At last, a cookbook that is down to earth and which contains everyday recipes that can be knocked up in hardly any time by your average person off the street. I would seriously buy this book to give to my children as a gift when they first leave home. There is also a very brief section in the front which explains about what ingredients are worth stocking up on and how to store them. Rose Elliot has done a very good job in this book. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys vegetarian food and isn't looking for a cor-don-blurr meal every dinner time.
