The fourth volume in the highly popular new series of high-tech thrillers created by Tom Clancy and Steve Pieczenik. Syrian terrorists have attacked a dam inside the borders of Turkey, threatening the water supply of their very homeland. It is not insanity, but the first step in a deceptively simple plan: force all-out war in the Middle East. This will draw elite troops out of the capital of Damascus, leaving the Syrian president unprotected -- and an easy target for assassination. What the terrorists don't know is that a new Regional Op-Centre is now on-line in Greece. A mobile version of the permanent crisis management facility, the ROC is a cutting-edge surveillance and information mecca. And its team can see exactly what the Syrian rebels are trying to do. But the terrorists are more resourceful than anyone thinks. They also have ways of obtaining classified information. And the Regional Op-Centre -- the United States' newest toy -- is a prize not to be passed up!

Tom Clancy's Act of War
This book was interesting. I have read many Tom Clany books and I like his style of writing. The book described charactors feelings so you felt a relationship with them so that when ever any thing good happened you were happy and you felt pity for them when something bad happened. I loved the book.
an enjoyable book with niggling bits
This book is definately one to be read BUT only if you have really like this sort of book or else it will put you to sleep. One act of class by one of a few brilliant authors. But remember don't bother if you don,t like yhis type of book. I myself enjoyed because of the detailed characters and your ability to know them before the book is over and also the few touching moments in the book.
A celebration of the US right to kill everyone else...poor
This is the first book in the Op-Centre series that I have read and it will be my last. The biggest problem with the book is that it is written with so much pro American war rubbish that is actually quite revolting to read. The overall concept of the book is that Americans are brilliant, all bad guys are filthy terrorists and the US should kill at will.
The story and writing are decent enough, but only read this if you think that US foreign policy under Bush was brilliant, otherwise you will find yourself wincing at most of the drivel written here.
