A Great book by Ms. Blair
"The Restless Spirit" by Jessica Blair, begins at the beginning of World War One, and how one day the changes the lives of the Harlands and Lawsons forever. Even as the parents fight, the younger generation are able to move on and even find love, but with the coming of the Battle of Britian they may not have the chance.
This was a really great book, Ms. Blair had great characterization and was able to keep the action moving to hold the reader's attention. Any fan of War-time stories should not miss Jessica Blair's "The Restless Spirit"
An enthralling book set in North Yorkshire
A fabulous read which I could not put down. The story is about fishing families in and around Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby in north Yorkshire during the second world war and of the young people of the families as they leave school and join the forces and are posted to various parts of the country and sometimes abroad. It tells of their trials and tribulations during this difficult time. I was sorry when I had finished reading this wonderful book and although I had not read any of Jessica Blair's work before I shall certainly look out for her in the future.
