About the Author
Ian Donnachie is a Senior Lecturer and Staff Tutor in History at the Open University in Scotland and the author of numerous works on Scottish social and economic history. George Hewitt lectures in history at a Glasgow College and is an Open University tutor. He has published widely on seventeenth-century Scottish affairs.
