Enchanting
A book of this calibre is worth the investment of a hardcover trilogy... this is a book you will return to, and your children will read. Never lend it to anyone though, the thought of losing such a treasure would bring tears to your eyes. The adventure, the great adventure. Yes they're hobbits, but their emotions are human. These characters are tangible, and you really feel for their welfare.
Lord of the Rings Simply Magic
I first read this book under the covers with a torch aged 8 years. It fuelled my imagination and changed my life giving me a deep interest in history and literature and art. This book deserves to be owned in hardback and the work deserves the many accolades it has received over the years. It was written at a time when Made in Britain meant quality. This book is finely crafted and unlike those works inspired by it was written by a literary genius capable of creating an imaginary world in every detail.
One of my favourite books ever written.
I have read these novels more times than I care to remember and enjoyed them everytime... I have also spotted little things that I had previously missed, so its well worth re-reading as well.
All I can say is read it. However you might ask why 4 stars and not 5 stars.... having looked at this book in the book shop I was rather narked to note the poor quality of the book itself... It looked like it could stand being read a few times then it would fall to bits... I would personaly advise either getting the seperate novels or getting a hard backed version if you want to be able to re-read this book.... and you will.
