Customer Reviews

A fantastic book!5
This is a really good book when deciding/choosing names for your child. It not only gives the name, as do most books, but gives the meaning of the name too. It also has a section on your child's horoscopes, which is interesting. It lists the names in two sections, girls and then boys!!! The best thing i liked about this is that it is up to date, but still has emphasis on traditional and modern names. A must for all impending parents.

The Best Baby Name Book - not1
I wasn't impressed by this book.
I found it to be full of unfamiliar bizarre sounding names i would never consider saddling a child with!
If you're after an unusual name this could be for you but if you after something a bit less 'faddy' dont waste your money.

You've got to be joking1
This book isn't the one to look to for guidance on chosing an actual real baby name, unless you want to call your son Woden or your daughter Spangle! My husband and I have had a few laughs at the ridiculous names and our laughable attempts at pronouncing some of them. The main problem with the book is that it provides the old high level name from which common names are derived so, many of the normal names that you might consider naming your child aren't provided as primary names, merely as a huge list of derivations from older names.
