Reformatted edition of this core Percy title with a contemporary new cover design. Includes fold-put poster. Percy the park keeper has been busy in his workshop for days. As his animal friends try to guess what he is making, Percy suddenly emerges sitting on top of a very strange machine!his new lawn mower The animals jump aboard for what turns out to be a very bumpy ride when, unexpectedly, the mower takes off into the sky. They all enjoy the ride until the engine fails and the machine begins to fall down and down. But some sheep in the field below all gather together and provide a very soft, woolly landing for Percy and his animal friends. And Percy rewards the kind sheep -- offering them the, still unmown, long grass in his park as a tasty treat.

Amazon.co.uk Review
When Percy the Park Keeper emerges from his workshop after three whole days of banging and crashing and tap, tap, tapping, his friends are more than a little surprised when they see what he has been up to for all that time. Instead of the bird table or a park bench, he has built an amazing new lawn mower, consisting of a sofa for him to sit on and a fan to keep him cool when he is working. But what Percy has not realised is that his latest contraption can actually fly, and before long he is hovering way above the park with all his friends on board...
Nick Butterworth fans will be delighted by Percy's Bumpy Ride for many reasons, not least of which is that for the first time EVER Percy actually leaves the park, hovering in the sky and looking down on his kingdom from above.
A suspenseful adventure story filled with fantastic surprises that will have young readers squealing with delight, Percy's Bumpy Ride is a must for anyone who has previously entered Percy's little world, will introduce new readers to life beyond the park gates, and would make an ideal gift for any young reader. (Ages 2 to 5) --Susan Harrison

About the Author
Nick Butterworth was born in North London in 1946 and grew up in a sweet shop in Essex. He now lives in Suffolk with his wife Annette and they have two grown-up children, Ben and Amanda. The inspiration for the Percy the Park Keeper books came from Nick's many walks through the local park with the family dog Jake.
Customer Reviews
Nick Butterworth at his best with an added touch of fantasy.
Percy's Bumpy Ride is a favourite of both my 3 and 5 years olds, as well as the one among the series that I most enjoy reading to them. This story breaks free from the bounds of the imaginative and touches fantasy as Percy's new mower leaves the ground to fly over the countryside. Magically, all the world seems caught up in the dream flight, as a flock of sheep forms messages to the party above and ends up saving the day. A great read especially before bedtime.
