Review
Lord of the Shadows 'Stephen King for kids ! Darren Shan has brought his own brand of vampire mythology into the heads and hearts of thousands of children with his vivid and compelling series The Saga of Darren Shan, about one boy's journey from ordinary lad to vampire prince. Once they're hooked, kids tend to rip into the flesh of these books, quickly draining them of their life blood. The covers, with images of ghouls, creeping hands and dripping fangs are terrifying alone. ' Metro Life, Evening Standard Cirque Du Freak "!fast-paced and compelling book which leaves the reader hungry for more." JK Rowling "I read Cirque Du Freak last week. I loved it. I love the way you manage to juggle the funny with the unpleasant, the affection with the hurt. It's great story-telling." Roddy Doyle The Vampire's Assistant "The Vampire's Assistant blazes a thrilling, gruesome trail through a fascinating plot." The Good Book Guide Vampire Mountain "Get your teeth into it!" Brilliant Finale!5
Darren Shan finishes off his series perfectly. It had to be extremely difficult to find a way to end this series, but Shan succeeds, ties up all lose ends and messes with the minds of the readers.

For all readers who are sad to see this series end, but know it has to, this should be a very satisfying finale. No longer so young, Darren Shan makes decisions in this finale that will shape the future better than Des Tiny could ever dream of doing.

Mr. Crepsley would be proud of Darren as he uses EVERYTHING he has learned to end things his way.

Bravo!

Once again, for those who claim the author is without skill, I say Charna's guts! You just don't get it. This series can be read by any reader of any age, which is all a part of Shan's genius!

I read all 12 books in this series and actually ordered the last 4 from England because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

Shan's unique perspective on vampires makes this series fun for those who like vampire stories and those who do not. Shan is truly talented.

Bloody Brilliant!!5
This book rocks!!! I have to admit Shan has saved the best for last and ties up all the loose ends perfectly. Some readers may be suprised how early the book reaches its climax but with more twists and surprises this book has, they won't care. The best, most exicting and bloody book in the series! Farwell Darren Shan, may the gods of the vampires have mercy on your soul.

Fantastic Finale5
WOW!! What a finish!

The whole series gripped me from start to finish twisting and turning and leaving me begging for more; and this book is no different.

This ending is so well plotted, tying loose ends and satifying unanswered questions. The way Darren changes his own destiny -to the outrage of Des Tiny!- was so brilliant even is a little predictable. I love how Evanna plays a part too and the ending with Darren is superbly written! But I wont reveal too much. I will only say......Darren Shan; this series gave me hours of reading enjoyment and the finale is no exception. Bravo! A truly inspirational series!
