Editorial Reviews
Review
"its astonishing cast of readers and many historic recordings make Classic Poems an absolute must have. What greater added value could there be than TS Eliot, Auden, Hughes and Dylan Thomas reading their own verse! Ralph Richardson makes Blake's Tyger lazily terrible, James Mason puts incalculable menace into Browning's "My Last Duchess" and Diana Quick shows us just why "Aurora Leigh" was a sensation in its day. It is an especial treat to have Burns and Yeats read with the Celtic lilt they deserve." Independent 15/2/97 "a wonderful collection of well-loved poems read by a star-studded cast" Express 3/1/98

Timeless
This is amazing value for the impact this item can have. I reccomend it everyone, not just old-time poetry fans like me!
The pieces are read in such a way that communicates the meaning and emotion of the words wonderfully. It adds so much more if you have previously only read the poems off the page.
If you are trying to convince someone in your life that poetry IS important and can be beautiful, then I think this would be a fantastic item to buy for them. I am planning to buy it for my neice is who currently studying Keats in school and complains of how boring he is!!
Disappointed
I was disappointed, too many "actors" over performing in stentorian voices. Probably only three tracks on the 2nd CD were worth listening to again.
