Sketching guide
This is another of the books by Alwyn Crawshaw. I would have preferred more emphasis on techniques of drawing, shading, etc., and will have to purchase another book as a guide.
The book does give guidance about why sketching is important, in terms of "setting a scene". However, another point here is the seemingly easy dismissal of photography as an aid. With the advent of cheap digital cameras, this seems niggardly. Take a photo, then sketch. Compare the two mages late.
The book does make the important point of sletches being quick and simple. Simplifying what is seen, and then depicted in the image is stressed throughout. Worthwhile, but not standalone in my opinion.
Excellent
This is a most useful and concise book. Recommended for beginners and more experienced folk.
