About the Author
Mike Boyle is Head of Biology at Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College (one of the largest Sixth Form Colleges in the UK with over 2500 students). He is also a former examiner for AQA. Mike has 26 years' experience of teaching A-level and has written 12 successful A-level textbooks for HarperCollins and 4 GCSE textbooks.

Good, but BEWARE OF MISTAKES
I have used this book and the previous books in this serious for my AS and A2 examinations this year and have found them to be very useful.

HOWEVER there are several mistakes that have come to my attention. For example the book proudly states that the resting potential is achieved by more potassium ion moving out than sodium ions moving in. This is of course WRONG as the resting potential is achieved by more SODIUM ions moving OUT than POTASSIUM ions moving IN!

For this alone I am giving this book 3 stars.

THIS BOOK IS FAB!
This book provides a brilliant summary of JUST THE STUFF u need 2 know 4 this really hard module!Its a bargain 2!It goes through everything in exactly the same terms and order as it does in the syllabus-all definitions are highlighted and makes revision reasonably enjoyable and easy-if thats possible!!!???

I am amazed that a book of this quality exists. Its exactly covers the work need to meet the specification for the AQA AS syllabus.

It really do believe this book is vital for everyone following the AQA board in AS Biology, and another great think about this series it has book for both module 1 & 2.
