Customer Reviews

Excellent book and supplement4
I was unfortunate enough to land with Dorf and Bishops Modern Control Systems as the required textbook for my introductory class in control systems. Fortunately I decided to buy this book, in equal parts due to my frustration with Dorf and the small price of this book. It was well worth the money.

Due to this text things that I had read in Dorf which made no sense at first began to fall into place. This text does an excellent job of explaining concepts, from the concepts of control engineering and modelling of a multitude of systems, to how these systems are analysed with nyquist, bode plots and root locus methods and how to regulate te system using the same methods. There are plenty of good illustrations to aid in this.

As in all books in the Schaums series there are plenty of solved problems although they are not always as difficult as you would like compared to some you may encounter in your class. In short I do not think I would recommend this as a stand alone text but it is invaluable as a supplementary text, and can, if need be, be used by itself.

Well worth it5
If you're taking Control as an undergraduate course, and need some extra help, then this book is well worth it. Not only does it cover the main topics in detail, but it has plenty of worked examples to show the principles in practice.

very good book4
This book is very good, especially for under graduate students. I am a power system engineer, having graduated in 1986. I used the book to refresh my memory on the study of the subject of feedback and control systems. I would definitely recommend this to anyone studying this area.
